Material Girl Living in a Material World
❤ السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
Why does society trust the government so easily? Trust the system? We believe our history books when they could easily be just as fabricated as our very lives. It could just be a method to gain mass control. You do know this happened in Japan before? The government created a false religion to control people. I'm beginning to make no sense as I'm stating facts I myself learned from my history books. I think I will just end up creating a large loop-hole, but just consider the thought and continue reading.
Why are so many disturbing things accepted in society? To spend millions of dollars on chemicals, plastic, and fabric that hold no purpose other than to create a facade. Think about it for a minute. How utterly disgusting, stupid, and irrational it is to plaster your face with cat piss and placenta (literally), to clothe your skin in cotton that cost 5cents to make, made by starving children in sweat shops, and to buy that fancy box of bolts that eats $100 worth of gas a day. Don't you ever wonder where's all that money going? Of course to the government, the masses, to the world leaders that are treating humanity like a Sims game because we're all controlled fools. They're going to keep doing it too because we let them.
Many of us will be laying on our death beds miserable because we accomplished nothing good for our souls. You see celebrities fall because they're miserable and many who reach out to God because the life of money gives you nothing but sorrow. Many people die in the pain of negativity, regret, grudges, and loss, because they didn't spend one moment living or cherishing the little things in life that count. The moments with your family, helping for the sake of making someone else happy, doing something to benefit someone over yourself. We live a life of selfish, shameless, confusion. Were too concerned about our breast size, or working those extra hours at work to afford top of line products, or seducing that cute boy. How about girls who sell their bodies to afford their face? Or the ones who commit suicide from a simple word? What about the girls that gain confidence by ruining other peoples lives? It makes no sense. It's so gut wrenching to know that the things that we buy cause such corruption in the world. What do we do about it? Sweep it all under this big rug of reality and continue conforming to this world of fabricated bliss. Same things apply to men- but women are targeted victims of mass consumerism.
All of the problems in the world, especially the one to do with mass consumption is one very dominate reason why Islam makes sense to me. This is why the Qur'an and the Hadith speaks so many truths and forbids us from music and makeup. This is why Allah suggests that we wear Hijab. It protects us from the disease of consumerism. It protects us from insanity. Allah knows best and if you question why something so simple as to plucking your eyebrows is considered haram just think about it for a minute. Think about all the things you try to justify because you're scared to stop following society, you're scared to stop following the standards of false beauty. When Allah says He loves beauty, what the heck is beauty? Do you really think Allah believes beauty is doing what a crooked society wants. He warned us about these very things! And Allah knows best so why do we doubt him?
I myself am really in no place to be preaching this but it's something I am so frustrated with. I struggle to break free from society, from conformity, and I just want to be a good Muslim, but society has me tied down. It's not easy. I'm writing and sharing this because I want to spread awareness and eventually follow my own understanding of the corruption.Change starts with awareness and I hope what I just shared will help someone else to see the reality.

L.O.V.E ❤ Halumaybe
❤ السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
While browsing yesstyle.com, because they have an 80% off sale which is killing me because I don't have the funds to purchase any, I stumbled upon this fashion label: Halumaybe. My jaw dropped upon seeing the clothes and I HAD to share. I'm in love. I want. They're amazing! They're more mature looking and this is definitely a look I'd love to acquire in the near future. Here are a few of my favorites:
Take advantage of the sale too while it's on! They ship fast, they're product is 90% of the time perfect (as in fit, cheaper it is, of course cheaper the material).

❤ السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
Following my previous post about my style I began to search for exactly what I was trying to express in what inspires me from the Gal world. F.Y.I I AM a noob to Gyaru, even fashion. I just enjoy it, I enjoy looking at the other Gal's blogs, seeing the pictures, and loving the fashions. I'm not so obsessed with it that it makes me materialistic, I just honestly feel an ease to be able to relate and find fashions from it that suite my taste. For me it's not the big eyes or the expressive make-up, it's not a life style, it's more about putting together a look, an attitude with your clothing and personality. It's about expressing yourself through your clothes, wearing what makes you happy, what makes you feel good. I find all that makes me myself, makes me unique, I feel that in the Gyaru fashion. Upon browsing I found my very first Gyaru icon: Sayako Ozaki. She stood out instantly. From her make-up to her clothes, altogether, she is dead on, exactly what I'm looking to obtain and to fuse with modesty. I love the colors she wears, the patterns, and the pieces she puts together (whether it's her or her stylist, I love it). All the clothes just make me feel warm, happy, and stylish. Not to mention comfortable! It's elegant and can be modestly put together~
Here are some magazine clipping found on Tumblr. Don't forget to click to enlarge (⌒▽⌒) ★
Tell me what you think about her? Or Gyaru in general? ~~-v(= ̄▽ ̄)

JESSSTYLE
"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss."
Qur'an, 24:31

| My Fashion Inspiration: Gyaru |
❤ السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
I want to talk about my clothing/fashion as a Muslim revert. Going into Islam it really scared me, that I, in time, must cover completely. It's not that I dressed provocative it was just that I don't like to wear lots of layers or long sleeves as I get warm easily, especially in the summer! Other than the fact of covering my arms and neck, wearing loose clothes was no problem for me as I had previously acquired a street fashion inspired look from Japan/Korea. I grew up being a bit of a tom boy, I HATED dresses or anything girly. Then I became goth in middle school later obsessed with Japan. I adored: Japanese anime, manga, video games, music. With the music came the fashion that went along with it: Visual/Oshare kei. I have always been into rock, metal, punk, and Jrock/Visual/Oshare kei. So this dark, Lolita/Punk/Goth type dress has always clung to my taste. Near the end of high school this style did tone down a bit. I wore less accessories (like spiked collars, yes, spiked collars) but always had a hint of darkness whether it be in my make-up or shoes. Within the past few years I got a little bit more fem. I started liking bows, polka dots, pink, and Hello Kitty. When becoming a Muslim I then grew excited to fuse modesty into my own unique Asian inspired attire. The thing I like about Japanese fashion is that it's always different. It some how, for some reason, is different from Western fashion. It steals from Europe and becomes it's own label. I can't explain it but I know some people do understand what I'm getting at. Right now I'm into Gyaru. It's an array of looks but there's just something about it that makes it special to me. Possibly the fact of how feminine it is, yet very unique. Some girls do all look the same yet others make their own look, their own identity with Gyaru. There are dozens of sub categories suiting each individuals taste. Although for a Muslim to be a 'real' Gyaru (based on some Gals levels) it does not suit the rules of modesty. Either way I have found inspiration from Gyaru and have found my own way, in my opinion, to take from it's fashions and make it modest. For me I add simple accessories which make a huge difference, like a pendant necklaces, rings, printed shoes or scarf. I never wear nail polish, falsies, lenses, or lip sticks (like ALL Gals do). I might for big events or if my Mr. wants me to for him. My make up is usually just mascara and liquid eyeliner, with lip gloss.
It's not hard to acquire a modern look with Muslim modesty. You just need to think outside the box, about layering, and looking at the different types of styles. Don't follow the girls in your town or school, or even copy the 'latest trends' from the magz. I also personally believe every Muslimah needs a good colorful cardigan, fab shoes, lots of long pendants, a good maxi dress/skirt and beautiful scarves. With those few pieces you'd be surprised at what you can put together. Shop around and try something new~

Remember the meaning of modesty! It means to be free from ostentation or showy extravagance. You don't wear things to impress others or show off. For myself, I don't care about brand names (expect that Juicy shirt that I found for $20 lol I had to buy because of the fabric), I like my clothes cheap, I bargain hunt, shop at thrift stores, and wear what's comfortable for me, I wear what I like for myself. Modesty is also an attitude and trait. Don't conform to the Western ways just because you feel out of place. This goes to all girls!~ Don't do something just because everyone is (unless, of course, you're happy doing that).
Do what makes you happy, feels right, and stays under the laws of Allah.
A lot of my clothes in these pictures are new and I have purchased them from yesstyle.com. It has a huge selection of different styles and they're affordable! Sometimes it's hard living in the West to find these types of styles. I know when I went to Taiwan 4 years ago I fell in love with all the t-shirt dresses and baggy pants they had. These styles are slowly making their way to the Western hemisphere but I just don't find them to be the same. So I purchase them online (It's easier to shop that way too lol no digging!) Other places I love shopping at are Ardenes, Sirens, and thrift stores.
I hope you enjoyed this post and take something from it~
What do you consider modesty as? And what do you feel makes a perfect piece for a Muslimah's wardrobe?
